I have dined here several times now this summer (with my wife & son, with my mother & sisters on Mother's Day and with my good buddy) after having not been here for years prior. Well I am so glad that I have finally come back because each time I have dined here now I have thoroughly ENJOYED IT!! Every meal I have had thus far has been very good, all of the servers have been excellent and Jason at the host station has warmly greeted me and my guests each time we have arrived! The menu is extensive with so many choices it usually takes me a few minutes to look it over and decide between several options which one I want to try.
All of the servers have been very pleasant and the atmosphere on the dining room side is very comfortable and family oriented (I haven't dined in the tavern side yet)! This place is great simply for the fact that I can take my 85 yr old mother & sisters here and they love it, my wife & adult age son and they love it and then have dinner & a few beers with my buddy and we enjoy it too, makes this restaurant a WINNER in my book!
Century House does it all correctly and I will certainly be returning again real soon!! -

I love this place ... I can't not give them a five star just because the bartender can't keep up. Honestly, never a bad meal. The bartender was so overwhelmed at 3:45pm that we had to tell her just to get our drinks while she gives a customer their bill. Basically you can see the aggravation in their eyes and demeanor. But that is no good customer service. I can't go without saying this is a phenomenal place... just help out your bartender that is "basically" asking for more help. We ordered the seafood platter. To see we have no clams. There was no substitution. The haddock was thin and small and only 4 shrimps on the plate. Clams. shrimp, scallops and haddock. It looked like like an empty plate with onion rings. Which were amazing. Go onion rings.
I will go back. Hell yeah! Place is amazing. But please look to help out your staff when you see them struggling.
Love you guys. -

This is a great restaurant that my family has enjoyed eating at, over the years! We have celebrated Thanksgivings there (not every year but once in a while), birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, etc. My favorite go to meal is the Baked Haddock with the special crumbs they use... There's something in those crumbs that make you want to go back and order some more haddock! lol
My husband will most always order a New York Sirloin, as he thinks it has more flavor than the incomparable Filet Mignon. That's what I would order if I preferred a steak. For an app I ordered french onion soup with a piece of french bread in the middle. The fact is, everything here is good. The Shrimp Cocktail is very good.
From the moment we walked in the door, until we paid our bill, things were great! There's two different types of dips. A kidney bean dip and a cottage cheese dip, mixed with thousand Island dressing, and something else that I'm not really sure. lol The waitperson takes your drinks order, app and entree, if you so wish at that time. I like to split everything up and take my time.
You're not going to pay a small fortune when you come here with 2-6 people. Another good thing to know is, The Century House serves breakfast daily and is very good! I know that they don't serve breakfast all day, so you have to get there by either 10 or 11am, maybe earlier. There's plenty of parking but the way it's set up, it's very narrow driving. -

My wife & I went here today for her 60th birthday. We can't say enough good things about the place. My beer was icy cold, with a frosted mug with each beer. Then we decided to get a pretzel as an app, it came with Pub Mustard, and was delicious & big. We were expecting some pretzel bites, but got one that was about 8" across.
As for the meal, since it was her B-day, she went for the King Cut Prime Rib, but it was more like a side of beef. It had to be about 2 -2.5 lbs., and absolutely delicious & tender. I got the Lobster Pie, big chunks of meat and a tasty cracker crumb topping, along with a side of melted butter.
We sat at the bar, and had Katie as our server, and she was outstanding.
There is no doubt we will be back, especially since my wife is 60, so she can officially go there... -
